I’m
glad I did not forge ahead last night.
All of the pins to hold the strips of swirly fabric on the sides made my
head spin – I have been poking myself so much, and I dreaded sewing with them
on there. Then- I had an idea! Of course, this is something probably anyone
else would have come up with as soon as they realized how many pins it was
going to take to keep those strips on there – hand baste them down! It only took me about six hours to think of
it!
Okay,
so I got the strips on, the top stitching is not that great, but I have always
admitted my lack of skill on top stitching.
Then,
because Alexis told me the bag was going to be too deep, I had to <gasp>
cut it down!
That
is about 4 ½ inches without a seam I took off.
I hope she is happy with it. I’m
wondering what I can do with that cut off piece- will have to think about it
for awhile.
Next
are the bottom seam and the corners.
And
that’s as far as I am getting today. I
am beat. Tomorrow, the flap and the
lining with the pocket!
